K4JMC's Tl;dr Privacy Policy

Written by KO4TEZ

No legalese, no sugarcoating, a just plain and straight to the point statement.

The Gadsden Amateur Radio Club, also known as, K4JMC does not make active attempts in and of ourselves to sell you out to ad networks, advertisers, or to try and take advantage of your visit to our site to manipulate nor monetize. We have no interest in trying to sell you something and our efforts are in genuine good faith. Our goal at the end of the day is to serve our community in whatever capacity that we can.

If you want to use an ad-blocker or anti-tracker plugin on our site - we do not intend to stand in the way of that.

Here I will give a breakdown of what we do have implemented on this site and will leave it up to you to make your own call and research into. No heresy, no miscommunications, all up to you.

This site makes use of Cloudflare (static.cloudflareinsights.com). I use it to help secure the site and for some of the analytical functions of their service to help gauge what parts of the site are being used the most and which ones that are not to try and improve the experience of users of this site. To me personally, its the lesser of two evils in comparison to other options such as Google Analytics / Google Adsense.

If you click on a link, Cloudflare will log it. I do not see your personal information like if you have a cat named Muffy or go to Walmart every Tuesday. All it shows me is that a user from "insert country here" from "this approximate city" visited this area at "insert timestamp here". And that's all I'm basically looking for.

Now they may make use of other details of your visit - I'm not sure - but page views is the scope of what I'm looking at during your stay. If you would like to review the Privacy Policies of their services — You can do so at https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/

This site makes use of Google Maps and YouTube for embeds. You can view their policies on what they collect at https://policies.google.com/privacy for Google and https://www.youtube.com/static?template=terms for YouTube.

The website also makes use of Google Fonts for good readability across multiple devices (ajax.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com).

We use Gitea for our code repository which is an open-source project and is used as an alternative to Microsoft's Github, GitLab Inc's GitLab, and Atlassian's BitBucket.

I will do what I can to stay in compliance with GDRP for our European visitors to the best of my knowledge and ability on our end. If you have questions or concerns; please contact [email protected]

I am not an expert. This is not legal advice. These are just our stances as a club to respect our visitors and do the best we can.

Kind Regards,

Aaron Johnson, KO4TEZ, Club Webmaster
